1940 German 6mm Aircraft

I finally got decals on the 1940 6mm German aircraft that I painted earlier in the year.  This was supposed to be a Christmas break project last year, but things don't always go as planned.  Here are some pics:

All 14 aircraft.

Me-110 to the left, Bf-109E lower right, and Ju-87 Stuka in
the upper right.

He-111 left, Do-17 lower right, Ju-87s at the top.

Me-110 upper left, and the other pair of Bf-109Es, center and right.

I'm working on the French now, with 8 of 21 aircraft done.  Hope to post pics by the weekend.

  1. Those look great- nice work on them all. How fragile are the propellers though?

    Cheers,

    Pete.

    1. Most of the models are from Scotia, H&R, and I-94, so don't have propellers. The Me-110s are from CinC and have propellers that are very delicate. I'm considering cutting thm off, though will probably wait until one actually breaks off before i do it.

  2. Nice work.

Have you an air campaign planned?

  3. I'm going to do a 1940 land campaign that will include air operations. I'm not sure of the scope of the campaign yet, nor that of the air operations. Probably a late summer or early fall start.

    1. I'm in the process of getting the kit for a fifties and onwards campaign involving a couple of imagi nations, including the aircraft.

Not sure what is going to happen so my purchases have been rather all encompassing. 😂

  4. Those look really good!
I imagine that 6mm planes must rather small so the decals must of been tiny! 😀

    1. Thanks. Most of the decals are a tough under an eight inch across, but the Flight Deck Decals are easier to work with than I expected.
